Bafotech PTY (Ltd) has manufactured complete units, new spares and also reconditioned component parts and complete units to the mining industry over the past twenty years. Our manufacturing facility is based in Welkom in the Free State, Goldfields and is comprised of 8200m² of workshop facilites. Our repair facility in Rustenburg is comprised of 1800m² of workshop.

About Bafotech

Bafotech (Pty) Limited ("Bafotech"), previously known as Techkraft (Pty) Ltd, was established in 1981 by Frans and Chris Boone who were later joined by their brother, Pat, in 1990 as the Operations and Technical director. Pat is the current CEO, while Chris is Director of Marketing. Late 2005 Matantabelo Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd ("MIH") acquired 30% of Techkraft in a transaction that led to the name change.
Nearly the same time, Palesa Rantsoereng also acquired 20% of Bafotech (Pty) Ltd. MIH is a company wholly owned by members of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, and is led by Lesedi Rakgokong as its major shareholder and Chairman.
